Position Description

You will serve as a SECURITY SPECIALIST in the Command OPS group, Security Department, Physical Security Branch of NAVAIRWARCENWPNDIV CHINA LAKE.

Position Duties/Responsibilities

  • You will prepare, review and evaluate program and security documentation to ensure adequate protection is provided in accordance with program requirements
  • You will serve as a team leader, directing and training Security Specialists and others working in the areas of physical security, personnel security, industrial security, operations security, communications security, and monitoring and inspections.
  • You will Interpret sponsor?s unique classified technical needs and advise on risk management and implementation of relevant security measures to ensure national security.
  • You will advise on the proper safeguarding, handling, storage, transmission, and destruction of classified information, controlled unclassified information and sensitive material, security classification, declassification, and marking principles.
  • You will serve as the primary point of contact for ensuring all Department, Program, or Competency Vaults, Secure Rooms, Controlled Access Areas (CAAs), and Restricted Access Areas (RAAs) are certified and properly managed
  • You will serve as the primary point of contact for verifying clearances, access, and need to know for Department, Program, or Competency employees and visitors in the Joint Personnel Adjudication System or other DoD official databases.
  • You will provide security indoctrination training for all new employees or transfers into their department, program, or competency to include derogatory information reporting and foreign travel reporting requirements.
  • You will serve as a point of contact for ensuring contract employee compliance with security requirements commensurate with the level and type of work being performed for the Department, Program, or Competency.
  • You will coordinate with Department, Program, or Competency Local Element (LE) managers to ensure all COMSEC equipment is properly handled, safeguarded, and stored IAW COMSEC regulatory requirements and policies.
  • You will implement OPSEC policies and procedures for the Department, Program, or Competency.
