Position Description

You will serve as an Senior Aerospace Engineer in the Air Vehicle Engineering Department of the Research and Engineering Competency of FLEET READINESS CENTER SOUTHWEST.

Position Duties/Responsibilities

  • You will plan, coordinate and conduct advanced air vehicle engineering work requiring planning and developing in several phases, each involving the development or origination of modified or new technical approach/solutions.
  • You will plan and/or conduct engineering investigations individually, as a member of a team, or as a team leader, depending on the complexity of the project.
  • You will identify, plan, evaluate and prescribe corrective action for air vehicle deficiencies/incidents of significant proportions reported through appropriate reporting systems to improve reliability, maintainability, safety, etc.
  • You will head, coordinate and/or participate in meetings and conferences convened to discuss air vehicle engineering issues, problems, design, development of new and/or upgraded air vehicles and systems, and other similar matters.
  • You will provide technical expertise and oversight to ensure the latest advancements in engineering technology are considered and implemented in work planning.
  • You will direct, lead and manage assigned team to ensure products and services are delivered on schedule, within budget cost and in accordance with technical requirements.
