You will serve as the Deputy Director of Affordability in the F-35 Joint Program Office (JPO). You will advise the Affordability Director on program efforts such as acquisition planning, conducting market research, defining requirements, and developing cost estimates across the JPO.

Position Duties/Responsibilities

  • You will advise the Affordability Director of developing affordability issues, including those emanating from higher echelons.
  • You will be responsible for capturing and executing activities within Affordability that develop creative and strategic solutions, identify, and evaluate risk, determine investment costs and associated return on new initiatives.
  • You will be responsible for the accuracy, responsiveness, and timeliness of resulting work products from the Affordability team and wider Affordability products generated elsewhere in the JSF.
  • You will serve as a subject matter expert (SME) in aspects of F-35 JPO acquisition resourcing strategy and business management.
  • You will lead all program efforts including acquisition planning, conducting market research, defining requirements, developing cost estimates and an integrated statement of work (SOW).

  • You will leverage industry and government resources to generate cost reduction opportunities.
  • You will drive strategy for enterprise-wide affordability to include establishing processes, plans, and coordination required for successful implementation.
  • You will provide F-35 JPO executive leadership with regular briefings on analyses of affordability initiatives, implementation, and funding issues and routinely interfaces with senior management in responding to Affordability questions and taskings.
  • You will interface with JPO Program Management Offices on active Cost Reduction Initiatives (CRI) and monitor progress against affordability targets.
  • You will maintain relationships with stakeholders to include prime contractors, external users, and internal JPO members across the enterprise as well as identify and prioritize key strategic initiatives within the program and from its stakeholders.
  • You will develop creative and strategic solutions, identify, and evaluate risk, determine investment costs and associated return on new initiatives across the F-35 Joint Program Office (JPO).
